Dr. Sara Rausch grew up in Lake Mills, Wisconsin, a small town approximately 20 miles from Madison. She completed her first Bachelors of Science in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2004. After working in the Information Technology department at American Family Insurance’s corporate office for two years, she realized that working in a cubical was not what she had dreamed of doing for the rest of her life. She still had a passion for math, so she pursued a degree in engineering. In 2010, Dr. Sara graduated with a second Bachelors of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After participating in an internship with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Dr. Sara found herself stuck in another cubicle. During her undergraduate studies, she had encountered some health issues that led her to her  first chiropractic experience. Through the amazing care provided by her chiropractors, she became interested in the chiropractic profession. After researching chiropractic and Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Sara decided to move to Davenport and begin her education to become a Doctor of Chiropractic.

Chiropractic Education
In the summer of 2010, Dr. Sara moved to Davenport with her eldest daughter Emili and started her first trimester at Palmer College of Chiropractic. While at Palmer, she participated in the Radiology Intern, Rehabilitation Intern and the Clinic Abroad Programs. As a radiology intern, she worked with some of the top chiropractic radiology professionals in the country and received additional training in taking x-rays, reading x-rays and diagnosis. As a rehabilitation intern, she acquired a better understanding of how to use rehabilitative procedures within a chiropractic setting. Dr. Sara went to Hyderabad, India with the Palmer Clinic Abroad program, where she had the privilege of treating hundreds of children and adults who were very poor and not able to attain health care. Throughout her education at Palmer, she also participated in numerous electives and seminars to expand her knowledge of assessment and adjusting techniques.  After ten grueling trimesters at Palmer, Dr. Sara graduated as Valedictorian of her class on October 18, 2013.

Chiropractic Practice
Dr. Sara currently lives in Davenport with her two-year-old daughter, Isabella, ten-month-old daughter, Ava and husband, Jeff. She started her chiropractic practice, Health in Motion Chiropractic and Wellness, within Centered Therapies in March, 2014. Recently, an infrared sauna was added as a service within Centered Therapies.  Dr. Sara prides herself in providing attentive, well-rounded, patient-centered care in which each assessment and treatment plan is specifically designed for one particular patient.  She is trained in functional rehabilitation assessment techniques (DNS, SFMA, FMS, NKT), which allow her to better determine how and where to adjust, perform soft tissue work or prescribe rehabilitative exercise. She is well versed in a variety of manual and instrument adjusting techniques including: Gonstead, Diversified, Thompson drops, Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT), Webster and Activator. Dr. Sara also utilizes several soft tissue techniques including stretching, fascial release, Graston and NIMMO. She also provides counseling in nutrition, exercise, meditation and healthy lifestyle choices.

She offers acupuncture in conjunction with chiropractic adjustments, as well as standalone treatments. Yoga Practice and Experience
Dr. Sara started practicing Ashtanga Yoga with Evan and Kelly Harris of Tapas Yoga Shala in early 2012 and Taj yogaparticipated in their 200-hour teacher training through the summer and fall of 2012.  After completing the teacher training, she worked as a yoga teacher at Tapas for one year. She has taught a variety of classes including beginners yoga, lunch time flow, Mysore-style Ashtanga, Intro to Mysore workshops and many private Ashtanga Yoga lessons.  In July 2013, Dr. Sara traveled to Mysore, India to practice at the K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI) for one month with Saraswathi Jois.  After returning from her trip, she feels she has found a much deeper meaning to her daily yoga practice and life. Dr. Sara is very excited to share the practice of Ashtanga-style yoga with her patients and the Quad Cities area.  Currently, she offers private sessions and workshops for individuals and small groups at Centered Therapies.
